About us
Working hand in hand to advance the field
The Swiss Network for Dementia Research is an association that was established by Dementia Research Switzerland - Synapsis Foundation in October 2023. The network is based on the conviction that pooling existing resources and promoting knowledge exchange between different disciplines will bring new inspiration to dementia research and advance the field.
Thanks to the generous support of the Synapsis Foundation, who provided the seed funding, our association successfully launched its first services. From the very beginning, the network was built around the community’s needs. The ideas and opinions of dementia experts have been instrumental in shaping both the network and its services.
In order to promote a close link between basic research and clinical practice, it is important for our association to have a close relationship with the Swiss Memory Clinics. A seamless flow of information is ensured by a board member who serves on the committees of both organizations.
Our vision
As a uniting network, we jointly shape a collaborative and interdisciplinary research culture in Swiss dementia research to facilitate the discovery of new insights and accelerate its translation into clinical practice.
Our mission
We aim to foster unparalleled relationships, close collaboration, and efficient information exchange between researchers, clinicians, institutions, and all relevant stakeholders to boost dementia research and accelerate the translation into clinical practice.
Our approach
With a diverse range of networking events, interdisciplinary educational programs, and an online community platform providing access to information on services, infrastructure and research tools, we build bridges across different disciplines in dementia research.
Our principles
We are accessible
We don't hide behind insurmountable paywalls; we are inclusive and want to make our network as accessible as possible so that Swiss-wide-networking is really enabled.
We are people-oriented
We combine digital networking opportunities and face-to-face events to create a community that is truly in active exchange with each other.
We are partner-focused
Partnerships and collaboration are at the heart of our work as an association. Just as we want to promote partnerships among researcher and clinicians, we ourselves live the spirit of collaboration.
We are service-oriented
We view ourselves as service providers, actively engaging with the community to create tailored network solutions.
