Post-stroke cognitive impairment: key predictors, multi-domain recovery trajectories and role of cognitive reserve

A Webinar by PD Dr. med. Roza Umarova, Inselspital Bern
'Post-stroke cognitive impairment' refers to the cognitive deficits experienced after a stroke. These deficits may affect any cognitive domain, e.g. memory, attention or cognitive flexibility. While some patients recover, many experience persistent or progressive deficits. It is important to understand more about this topic because stroke can accelerate ageing and neurodegenerative processes, leading to post-stroke dementia.
In her talk, will present her own research on post-stroke cognitive trajectories and demonstrate how cognitive reserve can protect cognitive processing after a stroke.
