Research interest

My work is focused on the role of mitochondria and impairments in brain metabolism in neurodegeneration. I am especially interested in further studying the role of neuronal mitochondria and brain bioenergetic metabolism in healthy and diseased states. My research focuses on mitochondria disorders, particularly in neurodegenerative diseases such as tau protein-related frontotemporal dementia. Our current projects aim to investigate intercellular mitochondria transfer between neurons and astrocytes.
