Research Assistant / Study Nurse (80%)
Department of Neurology, University Hospital Zurich
Area of activity
Animal studies and observational studies in humans indicate that deeper sleep is associated with slower progression of neurodegenerative processes. Several long-term studies are planned to investigate whether targeted sleep enhancement in patients with Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease can slow the progression of neurodegeneration or potentially contribute to prevention.
To deepen sleep in a non-invasive and non-pharmacological manner, the method of acoustic slow-wave sleep stimulation is applied. Precisely timed auditory tones, synchronized with brain activity during deep sleep, are used to amplify and intensify slow-wave activity. A Study Nurse or Research Assistant is sought to support these studies..
