Membership application and renewal

Who can become a member?

Individuals that are willing and able to contribute to the realization of the association's purpose can become members of the association.

New members are admitted by the Executive Board based on a written application. Membership may be refused without stating a reason.

How do I join or renew my membership?

To join for the first time, please complete a new member . Renewals for existing members are handled automatically each year unless a cancellation is submitted within the specified notice period.

What makes the membership newsletter special?

The member's newsletter is sent exclusively to members of the association. In addition to information relevant to membership, such as news from the board of directors or the office, announcements on the general assembly members receive exclusive content in advance, such as new job vacancies or early bird access to new offers from the association.

Membership types

What types of memberships are available, and what are the fees?

The Swiss Network for Dementia Research has three membership types:

  • Student Member for PhD Students and Untergraduates.
  • Associate Member for Postdoctoral Research Fellows and Medical Residents.
  • Senior Member for independent Scientists, Medical Doctors, Emeritus and others.

What do I need to apply for student membership?

For the application of a student membership you are required to upload a copy or photo of your student permit.

Payment

How is the membership fee process working?

At the start of each year, members receive an invoice payable within 30 days, automatically extending membership by one year.

Can my membership be cancelled and refunded?

Please note that mid-year cancellations are not eligible for a refund of membership fees.

Can I have a discount on the membership fee?

Currently, membership fees are fixed and cannot be discounted.

Termination of membership

What are the conditions for withdrawal?

Members may resign at the end of a calendar year by giving three months' written notice to the Swiss Network for Dementia Research at .

Additionally, the board may terminate membership if a member's actions harm the association's reputation or if obligations to the association are not met.
