New Partnership with Swiss Memory Clinics

The Swiss Network for Dementia Research and Swiss Memory Clinics have signed a strategic partnership agreement. Their collaboration aims to foster cross-linking between research and clinics in the field of dementia.
Switzerland’s collaborative framework for dementia research
Switzerland has a diverse research landscape shaped by its multilingual and regionally distributed academic and clinical institutions. To foster national knowledge exchange, researchers from different regions, disciplines, and institutions – particularly bridging basic science and clinical practice – are brought together.
The plays a key role in this effort, acting as a unique nationwide network that connects clinical centers in Switzerland. The SMC supports the diagnosis, treatment, and care of people with dementia across the country. Through its clinical guidelines, scientific publications, and regular networking events, the association facilitates a valuable exchange of knowledge and experience among its members — ultimately benefiting those involved in patient treatment and care.
The Swiss Network for Dementia Research serves as the central platform for experts working in the field of dementia. Its mission is to promote connections not only within specific disciplines but also across research areas. By actively linking basic science, clinical research, and healthcare practice, the network fosters dialogue and cooperation that contribute to scientific progress and, ultimately, to improved patient outcomes.
“This close collaboration will enable us to expedite the transfer of research and the latest findings to practical applications and vice versa, and makes them accessible for healthcare professionals.”
- Prof. Andreas Lüthi, President of the Swiss Network for Dementia Research.
A strategic partnership for translational dementia research
The Swiss Network for Dementia Research and the Swiss Memory Clinics, represented by , President of the Network and , President of the Swiss Memory Clinics, signed a partnership agreement. With this agreement, the two associations are expressing their interest in establishing a collaboration, strengthening interdisciplinary research in the field of basic and clinical research and promoting translational research projects. This exchange between clinics and research helps to better understand the challenges faced in clinical practice and identify gaps that guide the development of patient-centered research.
Examples of the ongoing collaboration include mutual support in communication as well as the organization and implementation of events for researchers and healthcare professionals with the aim of networking and knowledge exchange across disciplines.
While the Swiss Memory Clinics contribute clinical expertise and promote the flow of information to research-oriented memory clinics, the Swiss Network for Dementia Research provides access to a broader research network and encourages participation in ongoing projects.
