Together we are shaping the future of dementia research

Swiss Memory Clinics

The association is a nationwide network of specialized centers dedicated to the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of dementia and related cognitive disorders. The network integrates expertise from neurology, old-age psychiatry, geriatrics, and neuropsychology to ensure evidence-based and patient-centered care across Switzerland.

In addition to clinical services, SMC plays an active role in professional education and contributes to national and international research in the field of cognitive health.

By promoting early and precise detection and coordinated care, SMC supports individuals affected by cognitive decline, along with their families and caregivers, throughout the diagnostic and therapeutic journey.

Women’s Brain Foundation

The (WBF) is a global, Switzerland-based non-profit organization dedicated to advancing precision medicine through research and awareness of sex and gender differences in brain and mental health. Harnessing the expertise of a global team of scientists from various disciplines, we work closely with patients to implement sex and gender perspectives across precision medicine—from basic science to novel technologies.

Through scientific studies, advocacy, and outreach, WBF aims to improve diagnosis, treatment, and prevention strategies for neurological and psychiatric conditions affecting both women and men. We conduct, coordinate, support, and advance research on sex and gender differences, serving as an incubator and accelerator of innovation in women's health. While our primary focus is on brain-related diseases, our work extends beyond them to drive broader advancements in precision medicine and brain health equity.

AGE-INT

The Dementia Cluster of the AGE-INTernational consortium is developing and evaluating innovative approaches to improve the care of people with dementia. These include specialised care concepts for acute hospitals or the development of immersive VR practices that make the experience of people with dementia more comprehensible to the public. Furthermore, the preservation of physical mobility is being promoted by developing best practice recommendations and a corresponding intervention for care homes. In addition, an interdisciplinary citizen science lab is dedicated to use participatory approaches to sustainably improve the quality of life, independence, and integration of those affected and to promote social cohesion.
