A Webinar by Prof. Rosa Chiara Paolicelli, University of Lausanne

Microglia, the tissue-resident macrophages of the central nervous system, are emerging as critical players in brain physiology and pathology. In addition to their traditional roles in immunity, microglia provide trophic support to neurons and neighboring cells and contribute to proper synapse refinement and function.

In this webinar, Prof. Rosa Chiara Paolicelli, will discuss the various roles of microglia in both the healthy and diseased brain and will present evidence suggesting that dysfunctional microglia can play a causal role in the development of neurodegenerative diseases.
