Senior physician in geriatric psychiatry
Location: Felix Platter Hospital, Basel, Switzerland
Felix Platter Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Physician to join its Geriatric Psychiatry Department. The position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and interdisciplinary team, providing comprehensive psychiatric care to elderly patients. The successful candidate will contribute to the clinical care of patients, teaching, and the development of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the treatment of elderly patients with psychiatric disorders.
- Conduct assessments, diagnoses, and develop tailored treatment plans.
- Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team, including nursing staff, therapists, and social workers.
- Support and mentor junior medical staff and contribute to training programs.
- Participate in the department's research activities and clinical audits.
- Ensure the highest standards of patient care are met in accordance with ethical guidelines and institutional policies.
Requirements:
- Medical degree and specialization in Psychiatry, with a focus on geriatric psychiatry preferred.
- Relevant experience in a similar role, ideally within a hospital or specialized geriatric setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement in clinical practices.
- Fluency in German (spoken and written) is required. Knowledge of English is an asset.
